sydney fashion week 2010 [friedrich gray]

in collaboration with tim richardson for fashion label friedrich gray, we worked on the brief which called for an ‘exploded’ sculpture to enact a futuristic gateway for the 2010 collection.  with the collection titled ‘refraction’, the piece explored fractal geometry within a dynamic framework, shearing & reflecting images of catwalk models into moving shards of light and dark.

modelled in CAD, the tesselation of image was tested through ray geometry and finally, mirrored acrylic sheet was laser cut and assembled within a one day time-frame.
