koons to deliver next BMW art-car

following in the footsteps of lichtenstein, warhol, eliasson and numerous other artists, BMW have announced that jeff koons will be delivering the 2010 BMW art-car.
hervé poulain conceived of the BMW art-car in 1975 as he sought a link between art and the automobile. he appointed artist alexander calder to create a ‘rolling canvas’ on the BMW 3.0 CSL that he was to race in the 1975 le mans endurance race. BMW have continued tradition over the last 35 years, comissioning world renowned artists such as roy lichtenstein (1977), andy warhol (1979), ken done? (1989) and olafur eliasson (2007) to plaster cars with paint.
our favourites are warhol, fuchs and eliasson (although eliasson’s tesellated surface totally disregards the surface parameter of the car body).
